Caftan

The caftan is undoubtedly the ultimate traditional female garment. It is one of the components of the Moroccan dress heritage both in its uniqueness and originality. And variety of cuts, work quality and finish. Cut in velvet, silk or brocade, it is often richly embroidered in gold thread, silver or silk thread.

The caftan has taken another dimension internationally on the fashion runways organized by the Moroccan designers abroad or foreign designers inspired by Moroccan culture.

The appellation ‘Takchita’ is used for caftans that have 2 pieces carried on one another, usually each one of different material. Now, the takchita may have several different pieces (3 or even 4).
