Pottery or enamelled ceramics has developed in the city of Fez since the beginning of the eleventh century, it is since then, the undisputed capital. Generations of potters have succeeded each other, transmitting their wonderful knowledge to this day.
A true work of art, each piece is unique because it was hand-crafted, and required four steps in a long process. The potter shapes the block of clay, prepared and worked, in order to give shape to the desired object after which it is put in the oven for a first cooking, it then passes into the hands of the decorators who, under the orders of the "Maalem" adorns these pieces of blue or polychrome motifs on a white background, geometric figures, flowers, letters and stylized texts. The ingredients of the colors used are part of ancestral knowledge, and remain confidential to obtain these incomparable "blue" FES. Then comes the last cooking that will give him the final enamel.
BIYADINA presents in its collection a set of potteries of Fez, elaborated by our Master craftsmen.
